Disruptive Mining Tech partnered with Travel Storage to design and build a fully custom web application and logistics backend, transforming a manual storage booking process into a seamless, scalable digital experience for travellers across Australia.

The platform handles end-to-end customer workflows — from online booking and prohibited goods declarations through to automated courier label generation via third-party API integration. DMT architected the backend to connect directly with the Transdirect logistics API, enabling real-time shipping label creation, courier selection, and parcel tracking without any manual intervention from the Travel Storage team.

A key challenge the team solved was navigating Australia's freight compliance landscape, including aviation safety regulations that restrict who can lodge parcels on a customer's behalf. DMT designed a workflow that keeps liability clearly with the customer as the declared sender, incorporating legally compliant declaration checkpoints directly into the booking flow.

The result is a frictionless inbound parcel acceptance system that scales with demand, reduces operational overhead, and gives customers a clear, confident path to drop off their belongings before they travel.
